Seaforth is an impressive detached Edwardian family home.

Acting as the Lead Designers of the extensive internal and external refurbishment of the property, KNY are pleased to debut the studio with such an exciting project.

The proposed includes a thoughtfully integrated two-storey side extension with garage; alterations to fenestration; the reconfiguration of the entrances; and a single-storey rear extension following partial demolition of the existing property.

The Original Property

The property is in need of extensive refurbishments to align with modern-day family living. The brief includes full internal refurbishment of all rooms, including the bathrooms and kitchen zone. In order to maximise the property's potential as a comfortable family home, alterations to the internal layout and footprint are being explored. As a second phase, the landscape and integration with the external swimming pool will be completed.

Seeking to optimise the spatial flow for family life, we have worked with the client to create a home that fulfils daily requirements, whilst still providing the spaces we all thrive in for mental clarity and comfortable living.

Design Process

We begin with layout optimisation, working closely with the client and remaining mindful of how humans truly inhabit spaces of different scales, shapes, and orientations. From there, architectural design is woven into the process, embedding a bespoke creation that reflects both the needs and comforts of its end users. Forms emerge in response to requirements, palettes are chosen in response to emotion, and the result is a fully curated space that resonates on every level
